Apple Chips

Writer's picture: MickeyMickey

We either go through a ton of fruit, or we throw away a ton of fruit! These kids of mine really go through stages. We had a ton of apples that were ready to be tossed, but I decided to try and save them this time, and make apple chips. I cut the apples thinly and sprinkled some cinnamon and sugar on top and baked for a couple of hours. When they were ready they lasted about 10 minutes! All that time and it was gone. Super happy the kids enjoyed this healthier snack and will definitely do them again.

Ingredients:

4-5 Apples

2 tbsp Powdered Sugar

2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Thinly slice your apples and place them in a large bowl.

  2. Sprinkle the powdered sugar and ground cinnamon on top and gently toss.

  3. Lay the apple slices on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

  4. Place into the oven at 200 degrees and bake for 1 hour, flip the apple slices and bake for an additional 1 hour.

  5. Take them out, if they are not crispy continue to cook for additional 15 minutes at a time until they are nice and crisp. Let it cool for 5 minutes before you dive in! Any left overs can be stored in an air tight container.
