Candied Yams

My mom loves this! It's her favorite Thanksgiving dish. My mother-in-law makes it each year for us. I had to share the recipe. The secret ingredient is the scotch kisses from See's Candy!


Ingredients:

2 large Yams (6 cups)

1/2 cup Brown Sugar

1/4 cup Honey

1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice

1/2 cup Butter

10 Scotch Kisses

1/2 cup Pecans, chopped


Instructions:

  1. Boil yams until it's tender and ready to mash.

  2. Drain the yams, add butter and mash together.

  3. Add brown sugar, honey and spice and blend together with a wooden spoon.

  4. Pour half of the yams in a 8x8 casserole dish and top with 5 scotch kisses. Add the rest of the yams on top and top it with the rest of the kisses and sprinkle on some pecans.

  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes and enjoy!
