Chicken Wonton Tacos

Here is a little Asian twist to tacos! The wonton wrappers baked are so crispy and light, the chicken is well seasoned, the slaw is amazing and put them together and it's a pop of flavor. These are great apps, but we ate so many of them it was our MEAL! We added some hot sauce and avocados on top and it was BOMB! Highly recommend it.

Ingredients:

2 Chicken Breasts, finely diced

2 tbsp Hoisin Sauce

1 tbsp Sesame Oil

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

2 cloves Garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh Ginger, minced

Asian Slaw:

1 bag Tri-Color Coleslaw

4-6 Green Onions, thinly sliced

1 Jalapeno, chopped

1 tbsp Sesame Oil

1 tbsp Rice Vinegar

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

1 tbsp Honey

Tacos:

16 Wonton Wrappers

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Sweet Chili Sauce

Cilantro, chopped

Sesame Seeds

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degree.

  2. Brush wonton wrappers with a bit of olive oil, then drape them over the side of a 9x13 baking dish.

  3. Bake for 5-6 minutes, watching closely so they don't burn. You may need to cook the wonton wrappers in batches. Remove them carefully off the baking dish and set aside.

  4. Mix your chopped chicken in a large bowl with hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic and ginger. You can cook immediately or let it marinate for at least 30 minutes for extra flavor. Once ready, heat a large skillet over high heat and cook chicken for 7-8 minutes, tossing frequently until cooked through.

  5. Mix all the ingredients for coleslaw together in a large bowl.

  6. When you are ready to assemble, add chicken to the wonton shells, then top with coleslaw, drizzle with sweet chili sauce and sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds. You can add some hot sauce and avocado if you like and enjoy!
