Deep Fried Cajun Turkey

We always make a deep fried turkey for Thanksgiving. We used to do the traditional oven baked one, but that takes way to long and NEVER taste as good as the deep fried version. We bought a counter top turkey fryer that we just plug into an outlet, it is WAY safer then the outdoor propane ones. I highly recommend getting one!

Ingredients:

Whole Turkey

1/2 cup Butter, melted

1 16 oz bottle Italian Dressing

2 tbsp Garlic, minced

2 tbsp Creole Seasoning

2 tbsp Black Pepper

1 tbsp Onion Powder

1 tbsp Garlic Powder

1 tbsp Chili Powder

1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper

1 tbsp Paprika

2 Gallons of Oil

Instructions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients together and mix well.

  2. Brush on the marinade all over the turkey and the inside cavity of the turkey and let it marinade overnight.

  3. Heat up the oil in your fryer and submerge the turkey slowly. Cook 4 minutes per pound. Once the turkey is done and fully cooked, lift it out of the oil and let it rest and for the oil to drain off.

  4. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
