Homemade Pizza

Writer's picture: MickeyMickey

What a fun thing to do as a family. The kids (and us) truly enjoyed making these. They are not perfectly round, but that's okay I told the kids they are "Artisan" pizzas and it didn't need to be round. We made the dough, topped it with our favorite toppings and enjoyed every bite. The kids even ate the entire crust! We didn't even have left overs, as the kids would say, we are part of the "Clean Plate Club!"

Ingredients:

3/4 cup warm Water

1 tsp Active Dry Yeast

2 Cups Artisan Bread Flour

1 1/2 tsp Salt

1 bottle Pizza Sauce

Mozzarella Cheese

Toppings of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Combine water and yeast in a large bowl. Add flour and salt and mix until dough forms.

  2. Start kneading the dough on a floured surface until elastic and slightly tacky. If dough is too sticky, knead in more flour until smooth. Add 1 tbsp of flour at a time.

  3. Place dough in an oiled bowl and turn to coat. Let rise until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.

  4. Preheat oven to 500 degrees, line your baking sheet with parchment paper.

  5. Roll out your dough, you can make two 10 inch pizzas or we did four 5 inch pizzas.

  6. Add desired amount of sauce, cheese and toppings, top with more mozzarella to hold your toppings together.

  7. Place into the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and serve!
