Honey Wheat Bread

This is just like the Cheesecake Factory bread. You all know what I'm talking about. That delicious bread they bring to the table while you read the fat menu they have. It's so easy to make and super yummy! Spread some butter on it, and you can eat the whole loaf! This recipe makes 3 loaves, they are kinda small so don't worry it's not a lot.

Ingredients:

2 cups All-Purpose Flour

1 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour

2 tsp Cocoa Powder

1 tbsp Granulated Sugar

1 1/2 tsp Salt

2 1/4 tsp Instant Yeast

1 1/4 cups warm Water

2 tbsp Butter, melted

1/4 cup Molasses

1/4 cup Honey

Rolled Oats for topping

Instructions:

  1. In a mixer combine all the flours, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and yeast. Set aside.

  2. Mix together the water, butter, molasses, and honey in medium-sized bowl.

  3. Make a hole in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour the water mixture in. Mix until the dough comes together.

  4. Remove the dough and knead by hand. Do this for 5 minutes. You may need to add some flour to your surface for kneading if the dough is too sticky.

  5. Using about 1 tbsp of oil, drizzle along the sides of a large bowl and place the ball of dough inside and roll it around in the oil coating all sides, then cover with plastic wrap and set aside to rise for 2 hours.

  6. Divide the dough into 3 pieces. Roll each piece out into about a 9-inch log. Take a baking sheet and line with parchment paper and place the loaves on the baking sheet.

  7. Sprinkle a bit of rolled oats on top of each loaf. At this point, you can take a sharp knife and score the top of each loaf.

  8. Cover with plastic wrap and set the loaves aside to rise for 30 minutes.

  9. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake the loaves for 30 minutes.

  10. Let cool and serve with butter!
