You can't go wrong with spaghetti. We love it, but most importantly the kids love it. They will eat their entire plate and they rarely do that (unless it's desert). We like to use turkey because it's a bit healthier, especially since we are eating a ton of pasta already. This is a quick and easy Italian turkey meatballs, and I promise you'll love it!
Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Turkey
1/4 cup Breadcrumbs
3/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Dried Basil
1 Egg
1 tbsp Water
2 jars of your favorite Marinara Sauce
1 package Spaghetti Noodles
Sliced Mushrooms
Sliced Olives
1/2 Onion, diced
2 tsp Garlic, minced
Fresh Basil, chopped
Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the broiler. Line a sheet pan with foil and coat the foil with cooking spray.
Place the turkey, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, basil, egg and water in a bowl; mix until thoroughly combined.
Take approximately 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture and roll it into a ball.
Place the meatball on the sheet pan and repeat with remaining meat.
Spray the tops of the meatballs with cooking spray. Broil for 10 minutes or until meatballs are just done. Set aside.
Place the marinara in a large sauce pan with the diced onions, garlic, mushrooms and olives, heat it up on medium high until it bubbles, turn down the heat to medium and place the meatballs in the sauce and cover.
Cook the noodles based on package instructions, drain and add to the marinara sauce. Mix thoroughly, plate and top with shredded parmesan and basil and enjoy!
