Spicy Pork Bulgogi

Spicy pork is one of my FAVORITE Korean dishes. It's super flavorful and a perfect amount of spice. It's delicious with rice or the Japchae I posted yesterday.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs of Pork (shoulder, butt or belly)

3 stalks of Green Onions (cut into 1 - 2 inch pieces)

2 tbsp minced Garlic

1 1/2 tbsp grated Ginger

1 medium Onion sliced

3 1/2 tbsp Gochujang

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

1/2 tbsp Fish Sauce

2 tbsp Honey

1 tbsp Sesame Oil

2 tbsp Mirin

3 tbsp Water

1 tbsp Gochugaru

1 tbsp Veg. Oil

Instructions:

  1. Place the pork into the freezer for at least 1 hour.

  2. In a food processor, blend the garlic, ginger and onion together into a paste an place into a bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients into the bowl and mix.

  3. Remove the pork from the freezer and thinly slice it. Add the pork into the marinade and mix. Marinade it in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour.

  4. Turn the stove on to high heat, add 1 tbsp of oil to a non-stick frying pan. Once the oil is hot, add the pork in the pan (including any extra marinade)

  5. Pan fry on high heat for 8-11 minutes. Once the pork is cooked, turn off heat, add green onions and mix the onions.

  6. Serve with rice, japchae and kimchi.
