Tri-tip steak is a regular at The Stout household and parties. It is a great cut of meat, and can feed our whole family. It's our go to and when it's cooked right, it's perfection! We do different marinades but my husbands favorite is Steak and Chop. You can buy the bottled kind or you can make the marinade below. My advice is to marinade overnight to really give the meat some flavor. Always check on your meat, don't just leave it on the grill, once it's over cooked, it's done for! So many sides to choose from, because everything goes with this!

Tri-Tip Steak (any size)
1/4 cup freshly squeezed Lemon juice
1/3 cup Soy Sauce
1/2 cup Olive Oil
1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
1 tbsp Garlic, minced
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp ground Cumin
2 tbsp Onion Powder
2 tsp dry Oregano
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
2 tbsp Salt
1 tbsp Ground Black Pepper
Instructions:
Whisk together all of the ingredients and place into a zip lock bag with the tri-tip. Marinade overnight.
When you are ready, start up your grill. Wait for the coals to turn gray before you add the meat and cover. Cook according to your preference (rare, medium, well-done). This will all depend on the size of your meat, so check on it frequently.
Remove from the grill and let rest for at least 10 minutes on a cutting board before you cut into it.
slice thinly and serve immediately!
